The Empresa Municipal do Ambiente do Porto (Porto Ambiente, PA) is responsible for urban waste management and cleaning services at Porto City Council. In recent years, Porto Ambiente has made an effort to improve the collection of organic waste, through innovation, participating in international R&D+i projects and acquiring advanced equipment in this area.
In order to improve and optimise the selective collection of urban organic waste, at ECOVAL, PA will be responsible for:
- Identification of legal barriers for the recovery of sludge and urban bio-waste.
- Proposal of legislative changes for the implementation of the model for the recovery of urban organic waste and determination of the product requirements necessary to reach the market.
