INSA has extensive research experience in the main working areas of the ECOVAL project: treatment and recovery of waste; modelling of urban processes, treatment processes and chains, and pilot-scale experimentation in anaerobic digestion processes.
INSA’s team will mainly work on creating the comprehensive urban organic waste management model and the measurement of its economic and environmental impact. Specifically, it is responsible for the following activities:
- Optimised city-scale modelling of urban organic waste management.
- Energy recovery of the solid fraction of waste from the fermentation processes.
- Modelling of the acidogenesis process.
